Learning Exchange Session: Water and Sewer Infrastructure in Focus

The Appalachian Regional Commission and Environmental Protection Agency are hosting two learning exchanges on in-demand eligible uses of the ARPA Local Fiscal Recovery Funds. Registration will be limited to 30 attendees to ensure active participation and the development of deep connections. Each registrant is only eligible to attend one of the two sessions. We encourage you to sign up early! 

Learning exchanges will include a very brief presentation, and the remaining time will be dedicated to a facilitated discussion among participants. This is an opportunity to learn from and connect with your peers.

September 13, 2022: Water and Sewer Infrastructure in Focus

  • Aging water and sewer infrastructure can undermine a community’s economic trajectory. Is your community considering using ARPA State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund to support these infrastructure enhancements? Learn key strategies for successfully implementing water and sewer projects that have maximum community impact. Engage with other Appalachian communities to discuss your roadblocks and solutions when overseeing these projects. 

 

September 20, 2022: Meeting Broadband Demand

  • The pandemic underscored how important broadband is for communities to thrive economically, and the ARPA State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund is an opportunity to accelerate broadband deployment. Tune in to this session to learn key steps for launching and completing broadband infrastructure projects. Share your communities’ challenges and workarounds with fellow Appalachian communities.

Note: This training is reserved for county and local government officials and staff, along with local development districts in the ARC region. Please feel free to forward this information to appropriate government officials and other key leaders in the region who will be working with these funds.
